Spring Break

Our Easter Egg Hunt!

We had a really fun Spring Break! Jake really wanted to spend his vacation with us and we were more that happy to have him. I picked him up on the Sunday before Easter and then Amber came down on tuesday with Ella! Sage was off for Spring Break and I took a few days off and we hung out together and did some fun family outtings. We love being together and it's always fun to see the world through Jake and Ella's eyes. Friday was Sage's Birthday and Sunday was Easter so we did our celebrating of both days on Saturday at Sage's house. Scroll down to see more picures of our fun week!

Fun Days! Part 2

Sunday was really cloudy and drizzley and perfect for hanging out inside unless you are 6 yrs. old and 16 months old.  By about mid morning Jake and Ella were really ready to get outside.  Sage and Jer put Ella in the wagon and Jake on his scooter and off  they went to Jake's school playground.  They had a blast running around and burning tons of kid energy.  Ella was ready for lunch and a nap when they returned, and Sage and I headed out for groceries.  When we got back Jer and Jake went for Jake's favorite Subway sandwich and Ella woke up just in time to share.  We spent the afternoon playing and hanging out.  Sage bathed the kids while I got dinner ready and the plan was for Sage and Jer to head home about 5 or 5:30 PM.  Just about the time they planned to head out Ella decided she wanted to be held by Auntie and no other!!  Sage and Jer stayed until Ella hit the sack as Ella just would not let Sage out of her sight!  Thank you Sage and Jer for staying.  After Ella went to bed they were able to head home and Jake and I cuddled up the ice cream and discussed our favorite Webkinz, love, love my little chat time with Jake.  It was lights out pretty early on Sunday night--Monday morning was heading my way pretty fast!  I haven't had to get kids to school in a long time!  What an adventure Monday morning was but we did it.  I just had so darn much fun and I can't wait to do it again!  I love my grandkiddies!

4 days of fun! Part One

I just spent the last four days with Jake and Ella and had so much fun just being with them!  Amber and Ben were in Las Vegas from friday to monday so I stayed with the kiddies.  On friday Ella and I walked to Jakes school and met him and then walked home.  Jake rides his Razor, its is the cutest thing to watch him whiz down the street on his scooter.  Friday night Sage and Jer came up to stay with us, it's always fun for Jake and Ella when Auntie and Uncle Jer arrive.  On saturday we were up with the chickens to get Jake to the ball field for his 8:00 AM game.  It was a family outing at the ballpark, really cold and foggy!  His team won 17-10 and Jake got 2 hits, the kids can hit really well but the fielding is another story--but so cute to watch!  After the game we went to breakfast at the coolest little cafe in Glendora (its a family favorite) then home for Ella to nap.  After napping Ella woke up on the WRONG side of the bed so after a blueberry snack, snuggles and love we took off another family outing--Tai Pan and Victoria Gardens here we come.  We had planned to have dinner at Lucille's but the kiddies were not up for a nearly two hour wait.  One thing great in Rancho Cucamonga there are a ton of restraunts!  Applebee's (a family place) was our next choice, hungry kiddies was the deciding factor.  On the drive home we decided to get a movie (Beverly Hills Cha Wa Wa).  Sage was driving and we sort of know where things are in Glendora but not everything!  So who do we rely on?  That's right 6 year old Jake!  Seriously we probably would not have made it through the week end with out his guidance. The kid is awesome, not only can he point us in the right direction he can pretty much run all the electronic equipment in the house.  There would have been no TV without him and he knows just about everything there is to keeping Ella happy and content--he is the best big brother.

Crank-Pot with a Cold!!

Okay, I'm at work and feeling sooo much better than I did all week-end.  I seldom get a cold but when I do, I'm a real crank-pot about it.  I am so looking forward to the upcoming week-end, I'm going to Amber's to stay with Jake and Ella for the week-end.  Amber and Ben are going to Las Vegas for a Run that Ben is in. (Go Ben)  Jake has a ball game on saturday and Sage and Jer are coming up so we are also planning some sort of a fun outing with the kiddies, I can't wait!  Oh and by the way how happy are we about the time change? Yahoo with double back flips I love the Spring!

In Loving Memory

I've been wanting to post this for a while, but my emotions have been just to close to the edge. While we were on vacation Dana's Mom passed away. On friday we put her in her final resting place with Dana's Dad, at Fort Roscrans. I could not have had a better Mother-in-law. I've known her since I was 16 years old and we really had the most special relationship. Ruth was always so good to me and the best Nonnie to my girls. I love her and will always miss her. The picture was taken of Dana's parents in about 1944, it is one of my favorites. They were such a beautiful couple. Rest in Peace. Maui Part II

Our trip to Maui was so great. Dana had fun getting lots of autographs of the golfers-Anthony Kim, Camilo Villegas, Ernie Els, Daniel Chopra, Geoff Ogilvy(the winner) and K.J. Choi to name a few. Amazingly he also scored autographs from Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and chatted it up poolside with Michael Bolton. And yes, we saw Kate Hudson with Adam Scott that made the news and tabloids. The Paparazzi must hide everywhere or someone had a good phone camera. We decided to be polite not take photos of them and let them enjoy their vacation in privacy. Sage and I sat at the pool right beside Kate Hudson and her son Ryder, she was with Geoff Ogilvy's wife. Michael Bolton sat behind us at the pool a couple of times, he is very nice. It is fun to see the celebs at Kapalua because they are usually pretty relaxed and the people just let them enjoy their vacation. FYI my observation is this--they don't eat much-or when they eat its room service, they must wear SPF 50 because they never looked tan even after being there for a week, they really dress down--very little bling, bling. Our last morning in Maui!
